IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Training Program
The J-STD-001 “Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies” has emerged as the preeminent authority for electronics assembly manufacturing. The standard describes materials, methods and verification criteria for producing high quality soldered interconnections. The standard emphasizes process control and sets industry-consensus requirements for a broad range of electronic products. Now, IPC has a comprehensive, hands-on-solder training and certification program based on J-STD-001 that gives companies all the tools they need to increase employee skills and performance. The IPC J-STD-001 CIT course is 40 hours and includes through-hole and surface mount technology training.

STi Electronics, Inc., as an IPC Certification Center, is offering the J-STD-001 CIT and Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) courses at our training facilities in Madison, AL,. These classes are also available as contract classes.
CIT's will study the content of the current revision of the J-STD-001 and have to demonstrate aceptable workmanship skills and pass an open and closed book examination with an 80% average score or better with no single score below 70%.
Each CIT who successfully completes the program will receive:

• 15 open book and 15 closed book CIS Examination Booklets
(including answer sheets, and answer keys)
• Workmanship Test Grading Sheet and Criteria
• Artwork for J-STD board (Gerber data)
• J-STD-001D, J-STD-002, J-STD-003, J-STD-004,
J-STD-005, and J-STD-006
• IPC-9191 (General Requirements for Implementation
of SPC and Process Control)
• IPC Certification as a J-STD-001 CIT
Upon completion of the IPC J-STD-001 CIT course, CIT's are certified for two years. At that time CIT's will need to attend a recertification course to maintain certification for the J-STD-001 program.
